Call Of The Forest

Special Screening: ‘Call of the Forest’, Alhambra Cinema, St Johns Street, Keswick. CA12 5AG

Introduction by Melinda Gilhen-Baker and Jen Grange.

This film challenges viewers to participate in a global reforestation project to reverse climate change while exploring the world’s ancient northern forests in an inspiring journey with botanist and author Diana Beresford-Kroeger. Diana meets the conservationists and scientists working to replant and protect native trees, while exploring the irreplaceable role they play in human health and happiness.

Melinda is a researcher in the field of health and botany who has published alongside Diana Beresford-Kroeger. Currently working for the National Trust, she is looking to increase awareness around the importance of natural forests for our health and wellbeing.

Jen Grange is a natural wellbeing coach, forest bathing guide and mindfulness teacher. Her ethos is that we can only begin to heal our planet when we begin to heal ourselves. By improving our own wellbeing we are more open to the planet’s needs and more likely to be able to respond in a compassionate way. Having worked in conservation for many years to heal the land, she now works with the land to heal people.
