We are looking for car-owning Keswick locals (including surrounding villages) to join our car share pilot scheme, to reduce the carbon footprint from car manufacture and car use.
The Aims of North Lakes Car Share Scheme
- Promote Keswick as a destination that welcomes and supports visitors who choose to come here using public transport.
- Reduce the overall number of motor vehicles in the town.
- Lessen the need for on and off-street car parking spaces and allow more in-town green spaces.
- Cut carbon emissions from motor vehicles through fewer journeys.
- Transition to lower emission cars.

Hiyacar is an app providing a ready-made booking platform for car owners to rent out their cars and for non-car owners or visitors to rent a car in the local area. The app means there is NO HAND-OVER.
